I'm back! Nice to "see" everyone again...

Well then! Wasn't that a fun little 4 week hiatus I took from blogging. Whoops! I have no idea how that happened - sorry about that. I know you all wait by your computers for the new posts to appear, right? What's that? You don't do that...you have lives too? Ah! Well then we're on the same page.

So with that out of the way...what the hell have I been up to in the last 4 weeks?! I could go on for hours days pages but I will spare that. I'll just give you a quick rundown:

  • I've been busy - work, getting the house situated, training, more work, negotiating with a spunky 3 year old...you know, usual stuff
  • We took a vacation to Florida to celebrate Julia's 3rd birthday and surprised her with a trip to Disney. It was so much fun and we loved seeing her face when she met Cinderella, Mickey, Minnie and a few other characters. Absolutely priceless and I wish I could have frozen time.
  • I rented a Cervelo P2 while we were in Florida. I must own this bike. Now.
  • I finished 2nd in my age group and was 10th overall female at a sprint triathlon in Florida - it was my first open water swim in the Gulf and I survived the 88 degree salt water!
  • We took Julia to a Tampa Bay Rays game with our friends the McCallens and saw The Wiggles afterwards! Our vacation was complete.
  • I'm now finishing week 28 of Ironman training. What the what?! That is just crazy talk right there
  • I have 97 days to go until Ironman Arizona. And I'm freaking out a little bit like a crazy person
  • I haven't even hit the bulk of training yet - my coach tells me to be prepared true tests of my training coming in September. I'm terrified.
  • Rob created a Twitter hashtag for my Ironman... if you are on Twitter, you can follow me @ErikaMyers, or him @SpartanMyers and the hashtag is #erikawill. LOVE!!!
I know there is a lot more to share, but I won't bog you down with too much on this post. I'm going to try to do a better job of taking time out to keep this up more... it really does help me and is therapeutic for me to get my thoughts on paper. There's something about writing that makes me feel better so I need to make time to do it more! So please hold me to it.

Until the next, more topic-specific, less all-over-the-board post, here are a few ridiculous amount of pictures for you:

New birthday bike!
Swim lessons are paying off - she is a water bug!

Thanks for reading and checking out all of my pictures. I have about eleventy billion more so if you'd like to see a slide show, just holler.

Questions:
1) What have YOU been up to for the last month?
2) If you have kids, what has been your favorite birthday of theirs so far?
3) Do you like Disney? It is a money making machine but I fall right into their trap hook, line and sinker!

  1. I am so happy that you & your family had such a wonderful time in FL. What great memories for Julia. I went to Disneyworld when I was in 8th grade & still loved meeting Cinderella.
Aren't the Cervelo bikes amazing!? All of my friends in Spokane have them. They are so hardcore! I have to thank you for inspiring me to want to train for a tri when I get healthy. I want to get my own road bike bad! I have been biking around 50 miles a wk so that's a start!

  3. Welcome back! I need to get back to the blog... You think 4 weeks is a long time? Seen a blog from me in awhile? :)

Nice job on the sprint tri! That's got to give you some confidence. I think it's time for you to get that Velo. You've got to have something respectable for IMAZ.

Isn't Disney fun? We're in Florida for a vacation right now, and that Gulf water is pretty amazing! I'm glad y'all had a blast.

    Keep up the good work!
