Well, hello there!
I can totally get used to this view
- an awesome 3 hour ride around Lake Sammamish with Christy
- my FIRST OFF DAY since the end of April. That is nuts.

Oh yes. We got to go on a tour of the Nike headquarters, meet some Spartans who work there, talk business and sports with them and shop in their employee store. 50% off!!
The week started with an event in Seattle with our friends Brittney and Aaron!
One of my favorite Spartans - Kelley who lives in Denver!
The entrance to the HQ
Prefontaine is all over the place!
It's like a resort, not a place of work!
I didn't go too crazy buying stuff, but did get a fun pair of shoes, some running gear and some stuff for Julia, my dad and Rob.
She thought she was pretty cool!
Oh and as you can see, Julia is already prepping for a career in sports:
nice form!
I had a great time in Portland and really learned a lot from Nike, their philosophies and why they're so successful. And thought it was fun that their main differentiator is innovation - which is the name of my new team at work! So I really am able to apply a lot of what I learned there to my every day job.
Oh and it didn't hurt to know that the world's greatest athletes had been where I was...hard NOT to be inspired when surrounded by the best!
I'm thrilled that this week is the Rock and Roll Half Marathon here in Seattle and some of my wonderful friends are coming into town to run it with me!! Megan, Megan, Nancy, Adrian and Stacy are all flying in for it and I can't wait! We're also going to rally with a bunch of local bloggers including (but not limited to) TriGirl (please check out her blog for some amazing drawings of moi!!), Stacie, Pensive Pumpkin, Zoe, Rebecca, and RicoleRuns. Talk about a fun weekend!
Hope you are doing well and have an exciting week/weekend ahead of you!
Cheers -
Questions:
1) Are you a fan of Nike? Why or why not?
2) Are you racing this weekend? If so, which race?
3) Anything fun to share?
