Ironman Week 18 recap and TGIF

I had to double check the calendar today to see that it was actually Friday. The days have blended together with all of this moving chaos and it's been one of the Longest. Weeks. Ever! But things are slowly coming together. Sloooooowly.

With all the craziness around moving, I had to adjust a few of my workouts last week due to schedules, the move, lack of a pool, etc. So here are the deets:

Ran: 15.5 miles
Biked: 113 miles
Swam: .25 miles (whoops)
Total: 128.75 miles (including my sprint triathlon on Saturday)
Total training time: about 10 hours including the race

There weren't many highlights to the training week - just trying to get stronger on the bike and need to get back in the pool and also do some open water swims.

I am glad I was able to fit in as much as I did even amongst the nuttiness. I am truly becoming a master of time management skillz (yes, with a z) with all I have going on. Although I'm not going to lie - I could really use a break! I feel like it's never ending.

But the good news is I joined a gym yesterday for the fam! So I'm heading there today for my run and swim. It's a local club with just enough stuff for us and a pretty good value, especially compared to some of the other places I checked. It sounds very fancy - The Sammamish Club - but really it's not.

This weekend I have a 3 hour bike ride (hoping to do that with Christy tomorrow) and a 10 mile run scheduled. Then I'm traveling to New Jersey for work next week so Coach Roman adjusted my schedule accordingly since I'm flying cross country twice in a span of  3 days. Oy. It's going to be a challenge with the time change and being on a plane for 5-6 hours at a stretch.

Tonight we're taking Julia to see Madagascar 3! She has been talking about this movie for WEEKS and is dying to see it! She sees the bus ads and billboards all over Seattle and commercials on TV and just starts jumping up and down. She says "Mommy! I go see that movie!!" Yes, my love. You will see it. And honestly, I'm just as excited to see it!

Have a great weekend!

Questions:
1) Anything exciting in your training schedule at the moment?
2) Big weekend plans?
3) How do you pass the time on a long plane flight?

  5. Best time-killer on plane flights for me is reading, sleeping, repeat. I like have a good amount of a book to read (or a fun one to start!)as well as one...or two...gossip mags. I just can't say no when it's time for a flight. Let me know how the movie is!! I don't have a child as an excuse to go, but I totally want to see it!
