So my training has been a
via Google - I'm sure I look exactly like this!
My week:
- Ran: 33.2 miles
- Biked (on a crappy bike that I don't think was measuring my mileage properly): 56 miles
- Swam: Big fat 0 miles
- Total mileage: just shy of 90 miles
- Time: about 8 hours
My Three Things for this week:
1) Weather - Global warming, much?! My peeps back in Michigan are suffering through 90 degrees of misery and humidity right now while I'm basking in 50s and drizzle. Believe it or not, I LOVE the weather here! It's probably never going to hit anywhere close to 90, even in the midst of summer. My body reacts much better to this weather during training than the heat. Yahoo! Check this out:
via Google. Awesomeness!
2) Adjusting - Julia seems to be doing very well adjusting to living in Seattle...although I'm not quite sure she realizes we aren't just visiting! I think once we are in the house and she gets into school again, it'll feel more "real" to her. In the meantime, our part time nanny Kathryn started today and they already ventured off to the library for Story Time. It's going to be a huge help for me too with my work!
Do you love her outfit?! Too cute...
A little tourist-y but I had to!
3) Work - Things have been good adjusting to the time change while still working mainly "East Coast hours" - I've been starting work before 6am here but I'm pretty much done by 3pm which has been nice. I'm able to get out with Julia and check out the city and once we get into the house, I'll be able to have some additional training time too! Am hoping for some good work news coming soon too! Stay tuned...
via Google - hehe!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Questions for you:
1) How has your week been?
2) Do you prefer hot/humid or cooler/rainy weather?
3) Anything exciting and fun to share?

i want to be there with you! this 90 degree weather is for the birds! I would be happy if it only got to the 70s all the time. So glad you guys are adjusting well already. Hopefully Kathryn is a keeper! So far the week has been good, but long. So ready for friday tomorrow! Wahoo! Wish you were going to be here to run with all of us on saturday :( Fearsome threesome hugs being sent your way!
ReplyDeletewhere's the hot and dry weather? I really like the desert climate of Utah. It is hot, but dry.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are getting help! I hope it works out well.
I saw your bike arrived today on f/b. yeah! Good luck finding a pool! One thing that I realized a bit late was that joining the cheapest pool (which I did) wasn't really the best for swimming with others. If you can, try to figure out where most of the triathletes swim or if any clubs have regular times at a particular pool, and try to join that one. Sadly, I can't really afford the one that was chosen, but at least I know it is out there for when/if we decide that we want to reprioritize to make it work.
Glad you're liking the weather...it can get hoTTT here in the summer, but only for a few days at a time :D See you Saturday??
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you are getting some what settled in. I don't mind the weather in Seattle because I am used to the rain growing up in OR. Sometimes Spokane gets a wee bit too hot for me in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of starting work early to be done early. That's the way to go! I like the weather out there! The sun goes down so late in the summer, but it sucks in the winter because it's like 3:30-4pm when the darkness comes. I'm glad Julia is doing ok!
ReplyDeleteWeek has been fantastic, I love to run in sunny but cooler weather...and I went to the lake this Saturday with family and had a great time! New follower here, nice to meet ya! Blessings and looks like you too had a great week!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Seattle:) You are right we don't hit 90 too often here. Maybe a few days during August. Hoping there is another Seattle blogger meetup soon so I can meet everyone!
