Happy Day-After-Daylight-Savings-Time Day! Geez, is anyone else feeling as sluggish and tired as I am?! Why is it, that when it's only a 1 hour time change, that I all of a sudden feel like I've lost about 9 hours of sleep and have no idea what day it is? What an amazing phenomenon. Julia feels it too, as she slept in past 10am today - I couldn't believe it. But all that means is that she's going to be off kilter for at least the rest of today and probably won't sleep well tonight. Craziness.

But I digress.
So yesterday started what is, in my opinion, the best 3 weeks of the entire year:

It's hoops time, baby, and I couldn't be more excited! This year is exceptionally special because my Michigan State Spartans are a #1 seed in the West Region!!!
Our team won the Big Ten Tournament title yesterday as well to add to the amazing accomplishments of the season. I can't wait for the games to start! My brackets are filled out, my highlighters are ready (I love to highlight the teams I get right on a printed copy of my bracket. Old school, I know.), and I can't wait to sit and watch the madness unfold.

AND! I'm even missing racing a 10k on Sunday with Megan and Megan to go to the games. Megan is not happy with me, but the other Megan wins because I can transfer my number to her! So she doesn't have to pay the crazy race fee for a last minute entry - yay! Glad I could help her out with that one, but I am sad I'm going to miss the festivities with my Fearsome Threesome. We WILL race together soon, ladies - I promise!
And in other news, my training continues - nearing the end of week 6 and all is well. I did a tempo run yesterday and actually felt really good so it was a confidence booster for me big time! Week 6 recap coming later in the week.
Oh and one other item - my wonderful boss Dan sent me this Edible Arrangement yesterday as a thank you for my hard work! I. Was. Floored. I couldn't believe it and am so humbled. And it is really, really yummy too - Julia definitely has been enjoying it as much as I have.

So. Good.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Questions:
1) Are you a March Madness fan?
2) Is your team in the field of 68? If not, who are you rooting for (if you are watching)?
3) How was your weekend?

I love March Madness. Unfortunately the Terps aren't in it. Sadly they didn't even make the NIT. I'm not sure who I'll root for. Need to find an underdog :)
ReplyDeleteI love love love March madness. I do the printed bracket and highlighters too. I suppose my team would be the Gophers but they never make it in. therefore, I'm all about wins that get me points on my brackets and potentially make me money!
ReplyDeleteumm yum, what a nice surprise for the edible arrangement! I cannot wait to see you tomorrow!!! I'm obviously bummed but I'm happy you get to go do this. You'll have so much fun. Great job on that tempo run missy, you are training like a rockstar! I was totally thrown off today from the time change. Blergh.
ReplyDeleteGo Spartans! I saw the game on Sunday and thought about how excited you would be. Hoorah! It's awesome that you're going to see a couple games too. Sweet! What a score to be able to transfer the number. That doesn't happen too often. I'm glad IM training is going well. I see that you can't sleep either...it sucks! Jenn and I are struggling in the sleep area too. We should meet in the middle and hang out one night that we all can't sleep! :)
