"It" finally caught up to me

I realized this morning that I have been slacking in my posts again. Sorry about that -as I am sure you are all just sitting at your computers, waiting for my next earth shattering story! What do you mean you have a life and about a billion other things that are more important? Pshaw...

So what is this "It" I'm refering to in the title? "It" is actually not just one thing:
via Google

"It" is the last 3+ months with only 4 days off from training (and those were days when I was flying to or from Seattle and one day in Florida)

"It" is the lack of sleep over the past several weeks due to Julia's strange night terrors, way too much on my mind, etc

"It" is the cold bug that seems to have hit Julia over the weekend, also causing an ear and eye infection for her, meaning she can't go to school or swim lessons today

"It" is the cold bug that now seems to have hit me - I feel pretty punky today

"It" is the increasingly busy work schedule (which is a good thing but lots to get done)

"It" is trying to finalize dates for our move to Seattle and thinking through all that needs to be done between now and then - a bit daunting but we can do it

"It" is continuing to always have the house prepped for showings (getting tougher by the day)

"It" is being hopeful when an offer on the house came in, but deciding today that it wasn't the right one for us (the right buyer is out there - just have to find them)

"It" is feeling like I don't want to do anything at all today except lay down and rest. Haven't had that feeling in months, if not longer. Strange for me but clearly "It" is telling my body to take it down a notch.

I hope "It" gives me a bit of a break soon...not sure today is that day, but maybe someday soon!
But until then, I'll just tell "It" to
via Google

 Questions:
1) How do you handle when "it" catches up to you?
2) How was your weekend?
3) Any fun plans this week?

  2. Hope you are able to listen to your body and take a much needed break! I know it's tough to rest yourself when you're taking care of a sick child. Helps to revert back to when they were babies and "sleep when they sleep". Feel better soon!

  3. Honestly I've been amazed by all you've been able to keep up with and do….this only shows us you're human like the rest of us :) Seriously, don't beat yourself up! I think it's important to take the rest and know that it will all get better again - promise!

  4. You have a crazy full plate girl! Ironman Arizona is a long way away. Listen to your body and mind and give yourself a rest recovery day if you need it. If it's catching up with you already it's gonna be a long haul. Funny - yesterday I was feeling like I just wanted a free day to not train as I dragged myself through it. Today I have a scheduled off day and I'm itching to do something.

  5. You have so much going on!! I can't imagine working, training, keeping my house clean enough to show and plan for a move across the country. That's a lot. Give yourself some time to rest and recover.

  6. It happens! We are human, not a robot! Sometimes you need a break or you will end up running yourself down even more! Hope you feel better soon!

  7. Blogging should never be the priority, so I think you've got things straight. Sorry that Julia isn't feeling too good. That's a bummer. And those night terrors can't be helping anything. Great job on only skipping 4 days of workouts? That's insane! Keep up the good work!

  8. I agree - blogging shouldn't be the priority. You do have so many different and stressful things on your plate right now! I would be run down with about a quarter of what you are handling right now. I hope that everyone feels better soon!!

  9. I hope you feel better! As you probably noticed, blogging and reading blogs hasn't been my top priority lately, trying to avoid the "its" myself (this is another 40 miles running week for me), and we had weird weather that kept me glued to screens other than the computer. We did have a good weekend, I learned how to run through the parks without getting lost or running the same circle, and went to a neighborhood party. fun times! Ate WAY too much, but that is OK. Take care of yourself!
