Is there a petition I can sign to make time slow down??

So how did it get to be Wednesday already?? Seriously, time is flying by and I have no idea where it's going. If anyone can catch it and reel it back in, that would be fantastic.

Monday was a crazy day, since it was my first one back in town after almost 2 weeks. I took Julia to daycare for a half-day so I could get my feet back under me and she could get back into sort of a routine. After I dropped her off, I went to Running Fit to return my Timex that decided to take a crap on me while I was in Florida. They were very helpful and got me set up with a different Ironman watch, which also happened to be cheaper!

We'll see if this one works better - anyone else out there have this watch? Do you like it?
As I was driving home, the skies opened up and I got caught in a HUGE downpour with wind and flying debris on the highway. I could not see 2 feet in front of me, but luckily was near an exit. Whew. I was able to get to where I pick up my dry cleaning and there is a nail salon next door so I popped in for a quick pedicure :) Was way overdue and hey, I needed to wait out the storm! :) It was a bad storm - check out this picture from www.canton-mi.thepatch.com
- YIKES!

The rain slowed down so I escaped to the store to get some groceries and as I was there, I get a call from Julia's daycare - they lost power with the crazy storm. So I had to race to go get her, as they had no air conditioning. Luckily we didn't lose power at our house so we came home to hang out before heading to swim lessons!
After her lessons, check out her awesome Down Dog/plank pose - she's better at yoga than me!

Tuesday, I got up early and got a 90 minute ride in on my trainer - about 27 miles - before Julia woke up. Then we headed to meet some other moms and their kids from my Mom-To-Mom group for toddler bowling! We had coupons for free games and there were about 10 kids under age 3. Hilarious! Julia thought it was pretty fun and she had a blast! It was really cool how they had these ramps to launch the balls from. She even had little bowling shoes!

After that, we met up with my friend AJ and her 7-month old and my friend Brenda and her 18-month-old twins at the park! Brenda is here from Alabama for her son's hockey camp (we know her and her husband from when we all lived in Denver.) It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a great time chatting while the kids played. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures - ack!

Then we headed to Royal Oak for a gathering to say goodbye to our good friend Kevin (Julia calls him Uncle Kevin) who is moving to Seattle next week. We are thrilled for him but it's bitter sweet, as he'll be missed. Hopefully we'll be out there to visit him soon!
Good luck, Uncle Kevin!!

So here we are at Wednesday already... sheesh. I was up early to get on the trainer again - this time I did 60 minutes (about 18 miles) before my work calls. Plan on getting a run in later today too, as meetings have been canceled and moved.

Hope you have a great day! I leave you with these questions:

  1. How do you handle it when time seems to be flying be too quickly?
  2. How do you handle being completely overwhelmed with life?
  3. Tell me a good joke!

  1. aww I love that pic of julia at the pool, so cute!

I wish I knew how to slow time down too. But, you definitely need some time to relax...that will hopefully be accomplished with girls night.

When I'm completely overwhelmed, I try to just unplug and just relax...which usually involves listening to music and dancing around like a fool.

umm joke - my six year old nephew told me this joke on sunday:

"Why don't you want to go outside when it's raining cats and dogs? You might step in a poodle!" Hahha

  2. I have that watch and I really like it. The only thing I don't like is that the alarm doesn't have a "snooze" component, but otherwise it's great. I just bought this past week before my half iron so I could have a watch that did laps.

  3. I don't have any good advice for the time thing. If you get some good ones, please post!

I totally got caught in that storm in Canton! It was BAD!!! I was dropping the kids of there to be watched during the move, and they were terrified! We passed a freshly downed power line and Ryan's parents neighbors lost 2 big trees.

Sometimes I make a list of things that have to be done and work on those first.
